FullStack: SEO, GEO and AEO to get found on Google and cited by AI

DataLab audited the SEO and AI visibility of FullStack, a nearshore software development company that sells in the United States. Its Webflow site was technically sound, but it drew tutorial readers instead of buyers, and Google's AI didn't cite it in any of the 14 key searches. We designed the SEO, GEO and AEO plan and rebuilt the homepage as a prototype: mobile Lighthouse went from 36 to 98, measured without the site's third-party tags.

Context

FullStack (fullstack.com) is a nearshore software development company that sells its services in the United States. Its site runs on Webflow and has a solid technical foundation. Its technical blog captures most of the organic traffic. The real question was different: whether that traffic, and the new AI-driven search, were bringing in clients.

The challenge for FullStack

The August 10, 2026 measurement on Google US showed a well-built site that doesn't sell. SEO sent traffic to technical tutorials instead of the commercial pages, which had fewer than 300 words; there were 358 duplicate metadata entries; SEO health was 41/100 and AI visibility (GEO) was 20/100. Google answered with AI in 12 of 14 key searches and didn't cite FullStack in any of them. On top of that, all 4 site templates failed Core Web Vitals on mobile.

The hypothesis

If the pages that sell lead with the answer, carry structured data and load fast, Google can rank them (SEO), pick them as the direct answer in featured snippets and AI Overviews (AEO), and AI engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity can cite them (GEO). This wasn't an infrastructure problem: it was a content strategy and on-page build problem.

What we did

  • On-page SEO and GEO audit, delivered on September 23, 2026: SEO health, metadata, Core Web Vitals by template and a sample of 14 buying searches measured on Google US.
  • Phase I plan, delivered with the audit: on-page SEO within Webflow, with unique metadata per CMS template, canonical tags on pagination and filters, index cleanup and image alt text.
  • In the same plan: service pages of 600+ words with case studies, FAQs and structured data, written to answer a buyer's question first.
  • Phase II plan, off-page: link profile cleanup with disavow, authority backlinks, brand mentions and local listings.
  • A proposed GEO layer in parallel: 6 citable content pieces a month, each with a direct 40–60 word answer, tables, FAQ schema, visible authors and dates, llms.txt and AI crawler access.
  • Proposed quarterly AI citation monitoring with Peec AI on the same 14-search sample, to track share of voice and citation rate against competitors.
  • A prototype of the homepage and the Custom AI service page, built for SEO, GEO and AEO: answer first, structured data and performance.

Results for FullStack

The audit turned a hunch into a measurable plan, and the prototype showed how far FullStack's site can go. On mobile Lighthouse (version 12, September 28, 2026, same machine), the homepage went from 36 to 98 and the Custom AI service page from 37 to 100; LCP dropped from 6.4 s to 2.2 s on the homepage and from 7.5 s to 1.9 s on the service page. An important caveat: the prototype doesn't yet load the site's third-party tags (GTM, HubSpot, Meta and Clarity), which come back in production, so these figures show what the build makes possible, not the live site. The AI citation baseline (0 of 14 searches) is now measured, as the starting point for the quarterly monitoring the plan proposes.

  • On-page SEO audit
  • Core Web Vitals and Lighthouse
  • Structured data (schema)
  • AI-citable content
  • llms.txt
  • Peec AI

What we learned

In the age of AI, the page has to be the answer. A site can be technically healthy and still not sell: if the commercial pages don't lead with the answer, with structured data and fast load times, Google sends traffic elsewhere and AI engines cite someone else. That's why we run SEO, GEO and AEO as one system: get found, be the answer and get recommended by AI.
