How we do it at DataLab: LinkedIn prospecting that booked 35 meetings in 3 months
DataLab ran its own LinkedIn playbook on itself: 1:1 outreach that booked 35 meetings in 3 months, and buying-signal prospecting that brings in 2 leads a week and more than USD 200,000 a year in opportunities.

Context
At DataLab, we test on ourselves what we recommend to clients. In 2026 we turned LinkedIn into our own sales channel, built on conversations instead of ads. The starting point was two profiles with combined access to a network of more than 55,000 professionals.
The challenge for DataLab
B2B services don't sell through an ad; they sell through conversations. The challenge had two sides. First, launch a referral program with technology consultants, an audience that gets plenty of pitches and answers few. Second, find the people already looking for what we offer, right when they're looking, without relying on mass campaigns.
The hypothesis
If we replace mass messaging with 1:1 conversations and prioritize people showing an open buying signal, LinkedIn stops being a showcase and becomes a predictable source of meetings and sales opportunities.
What we did
- Referral program built on 1:1 messages to technology consultants, introducing the program in a conversation, not an ad.
- Buying-signal prospecting: we reach out to people with an open need instead of sending mass messages.
- Two profiles working in parallel to reach a network of more than 55,000 professionals.
- Content for a technology company: 33 posts in 5 months, 25,000 impressions and reach 4x the size of its network.
- Executive branding: 23 posts, 80,000 impressions in 5 months and reach 35x the profile's network.
Results for DataLab
The lab data: the referral program booked 35 meetings in 3 months with technology consultants. Buying-signal prospecting generates 2 leads a week and more than USD 200,000 a year in opportunities. What we learned
LinkedIn works when you run it as a sales process, not a posting calendar: 1:1 conversations, buying signals and content that earns reach beyond your own network. It's the same method behind our B2B marketing service, delivered by a nearshore team in Bogotá for companies that sell to other businesses.
