Quick answer

What is outsourced social media management with DataLab?

Outsourced social media management at DataLab means a dedicated nearshore pod—a designer plus a content and community manager based in Colombia—working only on your brand. The pod produces content every business day, answers comments and DMs, tracks the conversation in your industry, and reports reach, engagement and conversions monthly in a live dashboard.

The problem

Problems we solve

✕ 01

Posting into the void

Three posts a week won't build a community. Without an editorial line and fast replies, your feed turns into a bulletin board the algorithm stops showing.

✕ 02

Paying per post package

A fifteen-post monthly package breaks the moment a launch, a trend or a crisis hits. Every extra change costs more, and your brand reacts late.

✕ 03

Rotating freelancers

Every handoff starts from scratch: a new voice, a new visual style and another learning curve on your product. Your audience notices before you do.

✕ 04

Vanity reports

Followers and likes don't mean much to your CFO. If social isn't tied to visits, leads or sales, the budget gets harder to defend every quarter.

What's included

What you get with social media management

  1. Brand platform and editorial line

Purpose, tone of voice, content pillars and visual style documented in month one, so everything you publish sounds and looks like one brand.

  2. Monthly content calendar

A calendar for each platform with topics, formats, copy and key industry dates, approved by you before production starts.

  3. Daily production, no piece cap

Posts, carousels, stories, reels, short-form video and motion graphics. No monthly quota: the limit is the team's workday.

  4. Community management

Replies to comments and DMs across every account during the pod's working hours, with a response playbook and a crisis protocol.

  5. Social listening and competitor tracking

Monitoring of trends, news, relevant dates and competitor activity, so your topics join the conversation while it's happening.

  6. Monthly strategy review

One hour a month with your leadership team and the data on the table: what worked, what didn't and what's next.

  7. Executive report and live dashboard

Reach, engagement, community growth, clicks and conversions by platform, in a dashboard open 24/7 and a monthly report you can read in minutes.

  8. Connected measurement

GA4 conversion events plus Meta and TikTok pixels, installed and verified, so you know which post drove each visit, sign-up or sale.

How we work

How we work: social media management, step by step

  1. Week 1

    Kickoff and audit

Goals, access, an audit of your accounts, competitor benchmark and stage-by-stage targets agreed with you.

  2. Weeks 1–2

    Pod setup

DataLab selects the designer and content manager for your industry, trains them on your product and opens a direct chat channel on the tool your company already uses.

  3. Weeks 2–4

    Brand platform and calendar

Editorial line, visual system per platform and the first monthly calendar. Tracking goes live before the first post.

  4. Month 2

    Daily publishing and community

Content published every business day, community care, and tests of formats, posting times and messages.

  5. Month 3 onward

    Review and adjust

Monthly review meeting and executive report: we repeat what works and switch off what doesn't. Formal reviews at the end of months 3 and 6.

Stage timings are estimates: your project's schedule is set in the proposal.

Ways to engage and how pricing works

Dedicated monthly pod

A designer and a content manager exclusive to your brand, with hardware, software licenses and AI tools included, plus DataLab's support team for strategy, art direction and analytics.

Social plus paid media

The pod creates, paid media amplifies. Campaign management on Meta, TikTok and Google is billed on your total monthly ad spend, no matter how many channels you run.

Regional team at scale

For brands with several accounts, products or countries, we build a full digital team, like the 20+ person regional team we set up for nuam.

What drives the cost?

Every proposal is built around your goals, scope and timeline. We send you a detailed quote at no cost.

  • How many platforms and accounts we manage, and whether there are separate accounts by country or product line.
  • The pod's profile: designer and content manager, or added roles such as a video editor or motion designer.
  • Video volume: editing footage you already have, remotely directed shoots or, when needed, an on-site shoot, quoted separately.
  • Community coverage hours, including any need for after-hours or weekend monitoring.
  • Measurement setup: conversion events, pixels and dashboards connected to your website, CRM or platform.
  • Whether paid media is included: the management fee depends on total ad spend, which you pay directly to each platform.

Outsourced social media management with a nearshore team: why it works

Most agencies sell social media by the package: a fixed number of posts per month and a fee for every change. That model breaks when a launch, a trend or a crisis lands. An in-house hire solves dedication but adds recruiting, benefits, software and turnover, and leaves you depending on one person. DataLab's model sits in between: a dedicated designer and content manager who work only on your brand, with a full agency behind them. Our guide on how much social media management costs compares in-house, freelance and nearshore agency options.

The pod works from Bogotá, Colombia, on a schedule that overlaps with US business hours, through a direct chat channel on the tool your company already uses. DataLab handles recruiting, training, supervision, equipment and backfill, and our support team steps in for strategy, art direction, paid media and analytics when the account needs it. If what you need is marketing people for other roles inside your own team, such as growth, design or sales support, see our marketing staff augmentation service.

Your social content can run on either of our two content tracks. With 100% human content, copy, design, photography and video are made by people, with no generative AI in the creative work, which suits brands that need their own authorship or cover regulated topics such as finance or health. With AI-assisted content, the pod adds Krea.ia and other AI tools to produce more pieces and versions in less time, always under human creative direction, review and approval. You can also mix them: for example, educational posts written by people and format adaptations produced with AI.

Spanish-language social media for US Hispanic audiences

Reaching Hispanic customers in the US takes more than translation. Our Bogotá team writes natively in Spanish and has created content for Latin American audiences in banking, capital markets, fintech and insurance for more than ten years. We adapt tone, references and dates to the audience you want to reach, and we report each market separately so you can compare how every account performs.

The model doesn't change: a dedicated designer and content manager, a monthly calendar you approve, community replies during the pod's working hours and the same funnel KPIs, from reach and engagement to cost per lead. When your brand also runs Spanish-language ads on Meta or TikTok, the pod produces the creative and our paid media team manages the campaigns.

How we measure social media performance

Followers and likes are where reporting starts, not where it ends. Every month we report KPIs ordered like a funnel. The first set shows whether the community is healthy: follower growth, organic reach, engagement rate and click-through rate. The second set shows whether the business is growing: cost per click, cost per lead, conversion rate and return on ad spend when paid media is running.

To get those numbers, our marketing analytics team installs and verifies GA4, Meta and TikTok pixels and conversion events on your site in month one. We separate what the agency controls—content, community and cost per lead—from what depends on your sales team, and we review both in the monthly review meeting. That is how social stops being a brand expense and becomes a channel you can defend with data.

Case studies: social media programs with real numbers

For Davivienda, one of Colombia's largest banks, we run the social channels of Mis Finanzas en Casa, a financial literacy program for millennials. Using social listening, a creative review and content tied to trends and key dates, the program reached 1,298,722 people in 2023, with 241,084 engagements and 23,349 visits to its web app, all without paid media.

We have managed social media for Latam Fintech Hub, Latin America's largest fintech community, for more than six years: +159% users and +342% engagement. For nuam, the holding company that integrates the Colombia, Lima and Santiago stock exchanges, we built a regional digital team of more than 20 people, with 250% growth in engagement and more than 700 investment opportunities. The common thread: talking about money on social media without losing the audience's trust.

Frequently asked questions

Social media management: frequently asked questions

01

How much does outsourced social media management cost?

It depends on the number of platforms and accounts, the pod's profile, video volume and whether paid media is included. DataLab doesn't sell fixed packages: we quote after reviewing your accounts and put the team, scope and KPIs in writing. Your ad spend goes directly to Meta, TikTok or Google, with no markup when you pay the platforms yourself.

02

How long does it take to see results from social media?

Month one is setup: brand platform, content calendar, tracking and onboarding the pod. The first growth signals usually show up within 6 to 8 weeks, depending on how mature your channels are. At the end of month 3 we run a formal, data-driven review to decide what to scale, what to adjust and what to switch off.

03

Should I hire an in-house social media manager or outsource?

An in-house manager gives you dedication, but you take on recruiting, benefits, software, turnover and vacation gaps, and you depend on one person. A package-based agency gives you a team, but not exclusivity. DataLab's dedicated model combines both: people who work only on your brand, backed by an agency for strategy, design, paid media and analytics.

04

How many posts per month are included?

In the dedicated model there's no fixed number of pieces: the limit is the team's workday. Posting frequency for each platform is set in the content calendar based on your goals and audience, and the pod produces posts, stories, carousels, reels and short-form video every business day.

05

Who owns the accounts and the content?

You do. Your social accounts, ad accounts, data and every piece we produce belong to your company. DataLab operates them with partner access, signs non-disclosure agreements and handles information under Colombia's data protection law (Law 1581 of 2012). If you ever end the engagement, the full history stays with you.

06

Which time zone does your team work in?

Our team is based in Bogotá, Colombia, which doesn't observe daylight saving time. The pod shares New York's clock in winter, runs one hour behind it in summer and sits two to three hours ahead of the Pacific coast, with the widest overlap on Eastern and Central time. Approvals, changes and community replies happen during your business day, through a direct chat channel, a short weekly check-in and a monthly review meeting by video call.

07

Which social media platforms do you manage?

We manage Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube, plus WhatsApp as a customer care channel. We don't copy the same post everywhere: each platform plays a role in the funnel—some build reach, some explain, some convert—and content is produced for the format and audience of each one.

08

Does outsourced social media management include paid social?

Not by default. The pod creates and publishes organic content and takes care of your community. When you add paid media, DataLab's team runs your campaigns on Meta, TikTok and Google, and the management fee is based on your total monthly ad spend, no matter how many channels you use. The ad spend itself is paid directly to each platform, from ad accounts in your company's name.
