AI SEO agency: SEO, GEO and AEO to get found on Google and recommended by AI

We're more than an SEO agency. As an AI SEO agency we work on SEO, GEO and AEO: SEO gets you found on Google, AEO makes your page the answer in featured snippets and AI Overviews, and GEO gets ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot to recommend you. Technical, on-page and off-page work, all measured against a baseline by a nearshore team in Colombia.

Quick answer

What does an AI SEO agency like DataLab do?

DataLab is an AI SEO agency that works on SEO, GEO and AEO from one plan: getting you found on Google (SEO), making your page the direct answer (AEO) and getting ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot to recommend you (GEO). It audits your site in month one, sets a baseline and tracks each front with its own metric.

The problem

Problems we solve

✕ 01

Only people who know you find you

If most of your organic traffic comes from branded searches, you're losing category searches, which is where new customers are.

✕ 02

A site Google can't read

JavaScript-only links, generic titles, multiple H1s and zero structured data. Search engines can't tell what you sell.

✕ 03

AI answers with other sources

More and more searches end in a Google AI Overview or a ChatGPT answer, and those answers cite a competitor, a marketplace or an outdated site with wrong information.

✕ 04

Links without authority

Plenty of low-quality backlinks and no mentions in credible media. To Google and to AI, no trusted source talks about you.

What's included

What you get with SEO, GEO and AEO

  1. Month-one SEO, GEO and AEO audit

Current state with dated evidence: crawling, indexing, on-page, speed, structured data, backlinks, featured answers and AI visibility, plus a plan prioritized by work block.

  2. Technical SEO

Crawlable links, descriptive URLs, 301 redirects, sitemaps, Core Web Vitals, Bing Webmaster Tools, IndexNow and llms.txt.

  3. On-page SEO

Titles, meta descriptions, one H1 per page, heading structure, alt text and internal linking, templated across the whole site.

  4. Validated structured data

Organization, Product, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList and whatever schema types your business needs, validated in Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema.org Validator.

  5. Content built to be the answer (AEO)

A base plan of 10 pieces a month, each tied to a real search: a 40–60-word direct answer, sourced data, tables, FAQs, author and date.

  6. Off-page SEO and mentions

Mentions in media, directories and reviews; disavowing toxic links; Google Business Profile listings kept up to date.

  7. GEO tracking with Peec AI

Buying-intent prompts tracked in ChatGPT, Gemini (including AI Overviews), Perplexity and Copilot: share of voice, citation rate, sentiment and brand accuracy.

  8. Monthly report and quarterly review

Rankings, traffic, featured answers, AI citations and conversions against the baseline, with targets recalibrated every quarter.

How we work

How we work: SEO, GEO and AEO, step by step

  1. Week 1

    Access and kickoff

Search Console, GA4, Google Business Profile and your CMS or platform. The audit and AI tracking start.

  2. Month 1

    Audit and baseline

Full crawl, technical tests, backlink profile and real prompts across four AI engines. Output: a prioritized plan.

  3. Months 1–3

    Build the foundation

Technical base, on-page templates and structured data. Off-page starts in month 2: fix the house first, then build reputation.

  4. Months 4–8

    Accelerate

Full pace on content and mentions, adjusted monthly based on what Google ranks and what each AI engine cites.

  5. Months 9–12

    Consolidate

Double down on what works, correct what AI gets wrong about your brand and set the year-two roadmap.

Stage timings are estimates: your project's schedule is set in the proposal.

Measurable results

Client case studies and results

36 → 98mobile Lighthouse, homepage (prototype without third-party tags)FullStackDataLab audited the SEO and AI visibility of FullStack, a nearshore software development company that sells in the United States. Its Webflow site was technically sound, but it drew tutorial readers instead of buyers, and Google's AI didn't cite it in any of the 14 key searches. We designed the SEO, GEO and AEO plan and rebuilt the homepage as a prototype: mobile Lighthouse went from 36 to 98, measured without the site's third-party tags.
400,000+organic visits a year to Mis Finanzas para Invertir (2021)DaviviendaDataLab has run Davivienda's financial education on social media and content hubs on a monthly retainer for 8 to 10 years. In 2023, Mis Finanzas en Casa reached 1,298,722 people with zero ad spend; in 2021, Mis Finanzas para Invertir was already past 400,000 organic visits a year.
EternitFor five years, DataLab has developed and maintained Eternit's corporate WordPress website, eternit.com.co, with high security standards, auto-scaling infrastructure and a fully customizable design that Eternit's team updates without rebuilding the site. The measured result: traffic grew 15%.

SEO, GEO and AEO in one program

SEO to get found, AEO to be the answer, GEO to be recommended by AI. Three metrics, one plan, one team.

SEO, GEO and AEO: what AI SEO services cover and how each one is measured

Search no longer ends at ten blue links. A query can be answered by a featured snippet, a Google AI Overview or a conversation with ChatGPT. That's why our AI SEO services cover SEO, GEO and AEO, three fronts that reinforce each other and are measured separately.

SEO (search engine optimization) gets you found: rankings and organic traffic on Google. AEO (answer engine optimization) makes you the answer: the featured snippet, the source behind an AI Overview or what a voice assistant reads out. GEO (generative engine optimization) gets you recommended: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot name you and cite your site when someone asks about your category.

Each front has its own metric. For SEO, rankings, clicks and conversions in Search Console and GA4 against the baseline. For AEO, the questions where your page shows up as the direct answer. For GEO, share of voice (how often you appear versus competitors) and citation rate (how often your site is the source), tracked in Peec AI along with sentiment and the accuracy of what AI says about your brand. We break it down in GEO vs SEO.

SEO is still the foundation: an AI engine is unlikely to cite a page it can't crawl, read or verify. AEO is the bridge: the same 40–60-word direct answer, with sourced data, that wins a featured snippet is the format AI engines extract.

FullStack case study: in the age of AI, the page has to be the answer

For FullStack, a nearshore software development company selling to the US market with its site on Webflow, we rebuilt the homepage and the Custom AI service page as a prototype built for SEO, GEO and AEO: answer first, structured data and performance. The mobile Lighthouse score went from 36 to 98 on the homepage and from 37 to 100 on the service page; LCP dropped from 6.4 s to 2.2 s and from 7.5 s to 1.9 s (Lighthouse 12, September 28, 2026, same machine). One caveat: the prototype doesn't load the site's third-party tags (GTM, HubSpot, Meta or Clarity), so these numbers show what the page itself can do, not the live site.

The starting point, measured on August 10, 2026 on Google US, was a solid technical foundation with SEO working for the wrong audience: it pulled traffic to technical tutorials instead of the pages that sell, which had fewer than 300 words. There were 358 duplicate metadata entries, overall SEO health was 41/100 and AI visibility was 20/100: Google answered with AI in 12 of 14 key searches and cited FullStack in none. On top of that, all 4 templates failed Core Web Vitals on mobile.

Our August proposal and the on-page SEO and GEO audit we delivered on September 23, 2026 set out two phases plus a parallel layer. Phase I, on-page within Webflow: unique metadata per CMS template, canonicals on pagination and filters, 600+-word service pages with case studies, FAQs and structured data, performance, alt text and index cleanup. Phase II, off-page: link-profile cleanup with disavow, authority links, brand mentions and local listings. The GEO layer: 6 citable pieces a month with a 40–60-word direct answer, tables, FAQ schema, visible authors and dates, llms.txt and AI-crawler access, plus quarterly citation tracking in Peec AI across 14 key searches. The lesson: in the age of AI, the page has to be the answer.

SEO results you can verify

Since 2017 we've produced Mis Finanzas para Invertir, Davivienda's investor-education portal, which was born at DataLab. With more than 1,000 articles, infographics, videos and interviews, by 2021 it was drawing 400,000+ organic visits a year, with annual growth above 100% and more than 50,000 organic visits a month during that year. That's traffic earned with content, not bought with media.

For Ideas de Inversión, a content portal, the site reached 100,000 visits a month (a figure published in 2021).

For Eternit, a fiber cement and building systems company, the corporate WordPress site we've supported for five years grew traffic 15%, with WordPress security best practices and automatic scaling. Different sectors, one principle: content that answers real searches, on a technically sound site, measured month after month.

How our AI SEO agency works: on-page first, then off-page

Links and mentions pointing to slow pages with vague titles and no structured data are wasted. So the program starts with the month-one on-page SEO audit and the technical foundation, and off-page work begins in month two: fix the house first, then build reputation. It's the same order we set out in the FullStack case.

Every task moves a metric. Crawlable links improve indexing; valid schema makes you easier to cite; lighter pages improve Core Web Vitals. Every structured-data change is validated in Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema.org Validator before we call it done.

GEO is a medium-term investment: first signals in AI engines typically appear between months 3 and 6. We track from day one so you see real progress, not promises. And because Bogotá stays on UTC−5 all year, our team is on New York time in winter, one hour behind it in summer and two to three hours ahead of Los Angeles, so reviews and fixes happen while your team is online.

Frequently asked questions

SEO, GEO and AEO: frequently asked questions

01

What's the difference between SEO, GEO and AEO?

SEO gets you found on Google through rankings and organic traffic. AEO makes your page the direct answer in featured snippets, AI Overviews and voice assistants. GEO gets ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot to cite and recommend you. DataLab works on all three fronts from the same technical and content foundation.

02

How long does AI SEO take to show results?

Technical and on-page fixes usually show up in indexing and rankings within the first months. New content needs time to build authority, and in GEO the first signals in AI engines appear between months 3 and 6. That's why the program runs for 12 months, with quarterly reviews against the baseline.

03

How much do AI SEO services cost?

It depends on site size, the technical starting point, who implements the changes, monthly content and mention volume, and how many prompts and AI engines are tracked. At DataLab each work stream is priced separately and can be hired on its own. We send you a detailed quote at no cost.

04

Can you guarantee the #1 spot on Google or ChatGPT?

No. No serious SEO agency can guarantee a position, because Google and AI engines decide with their own algorithms. What we do is set a baseline in month one, agree on measurable quarterly targets, and report rankings, traffic, AI citations and conversions against that baseline.

05

How do you measure brand visibility in ChatGPT and Gemini?

With Peec AI we track a set of buying-intent prompts for your category in ChatGPT, Gemini with AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. We measure share of voice, your site's citation rate, sentiment and the accuracy of what AI says about your brand. It's to AI what Search Console is to Google.

06

What does the month-one audit include?

The audit reviews your site's URLs with Search Console and GA4, AI bot access, HTML readability, structured data, speed by template, Google and Bing indexing, Google Business Profile listings and your backlink profile. It delivers the current state with dated evidence, a baseline and a prioritized plan.

07

Do I need to rebuild my website?

Rarely. Most issues can be fixed on your current site: links, titles, templates, speed and structured data. If a third party runs your platform, we hand over the spec and validate every release. We only recommend a rebuild when the platform blocks the basics, and that case is documented in the audit.

08

Do you optimize for Google AI Overviews and AI Mode?

Yes. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode build their answers from pages Google can crawl, understand and trust, so the same foundation applies: a clean technical base, answer-first content with sources, valid structured data and mentions on sites your buyers read. We also track your brand in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot with Peec AI and report it next to your Google rankings.
